Wrexham AFC boss Phil Parkinson to ring the changes for EFL Trophy game at Port Vale
New-look Wrexham side expected as Parkinson prepares to hand out opportunities
Parkinson keen to give fringe players a chance to impress
Wrexham AFC manager Phil Parkinson is expected to make wholesale changes for Tuesday night's Papa John's Trophy clash with his former club Port Vale.
With a packed schedule coming up, Parkinson is keen to give opportunities to those who have not played much football so far this season.
Parkinson said: "We've got a big squad and we need to use it. There are players who have been working hard and not getting the game time they deserve, so this is their chance to impress."
Wrexham have injury concerns over Bryce Hosannah and Jordan Tunnicliffe, who both missed Saturday's win over Maidstone United. Luke Young is also expected to miss the trip to Vale Park.
Parkinson has a number of options to rotate his squad, with the likes of Cameron Green, Reece Hall-Johnson, Jake Hyde and Kieran Kennedy all pushing for starts.
Wrexham go into the game on the back of three straight wins in all competitions and will be full of confidence heading to Burslem.
Parkinson added: "It's a good opportunity for us to continue our good form and get some momentum going into the FA Cup game against Stockport County on Saturday.
"I'm expecting a tough game against a strong Port Vale side, but we're confident we can get a result."
The match at Vale Park kicks off at 7pm on Tuesday, August 30.
