UK suffering an 'identity crisis' as a THIRD of babies are born to foreign mothers: 'Urgent to stop mass immigration!'
An "urgent" solution is needed to stop mass immigration which is causing an "identity crisis" in the UK, according to a new report.
The study, by Migration Watch UK, found that a third of babies born in England and Wales in 2021 had at least one foreign-born parent.
This is up from 25% in 2001, and is the highest level since records began in 1969.
The report warns that this level of immigration is unsustainable, and is leading to an "identity crisis" in the UK.
"Mass immigration is changing the very nature of our country," said Migration Watch UK chairman Alp Mehmet.
"We are losing our sense of identity and community, and our way of life is being eroded."
The report calls for the government to take urgent action to reduce immigration, including:
- Reducing the number of visas issued to skilled workers
- Ending the practice of unskilled immigration
- Introducing a points-based system for family reunification
The government has said that it is committed to reducing immigration, but has not yet announced any specific measures.
The Migration Watch UK report is likely to reignite the debate about immigration in the UK.
Some people believe that immigration is a good thing, and that it brings new skills and cultures to the UK.
Others believe that immigration is a problem, and that it is putting a strain on public services and causing social tensions.
The debate is likely to continue for some time to come.
