British mom left shaken after 'intruder' entered Marmaris hotel room
A British mom has been left 'terrified' after claiming an 'intruder' entered her hotel room in Turkey in the early hours of the morning. The woman, who has not been named, said she was woken up by a noise in her room at around 3am on Saturday morning.
She said she got out of bed and opened the door to her balcony, where she saw a man standing outside. The man, who was wearing a black ski mask, then entered the room and approached the woman's bed.
The woman said she screamed and the man ran away. She then called the hotel reception, who called the police. The police arrived and searched the hotel, but the man was not found.
Police investigating incident
A spokesperson for the Turkish police said they are investigating the incident and have launched a manhunt for the suspect.
The woman said she is now too scared to stay in the hotel and has been moved to another room. She said she is also considering cutting her holiday short and returning to the UK.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of tourists in Turkey. The British Foreign Office has advised British nationals to be vigilant and to take sensible precautions when travelling to the country.
