UNC Basketball Recruiting Target Updates Recruitment
Arch Manning
The nation's top recruit, Arch Manning, released his Top 8 schools on Thursday. UNC made the cut, along with Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Stanford, Texas, and Virginia. Manning, at 6-foot-3 215-pounds, is the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2023 class per the 247Sports Composite. He is the son of former NFL quarterback Archie Manning and the nephew of former NFL quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning.Manning could be the answer to multiple issues for UNC. The Tar Heels struggled at the quarterback position in 2022, and the Manning name carries a lot of weight in Chapel Hill. Manning has already visited UNC twice, and he is expected to return for another visit in the spring.
UNC has a good chance to land Manning, but they will have to fend off some stiff competition. Alabama, Georgia, LSU, and Texas are all considered to be major contenders for his services.
Jadyn Davis
Four-star running back Jadyn Davis has been one of UNC's top targets in the 2023 class. The 5-foot-11, 200-pounder from Rolesville, NC, is considered to be one of the best running backs in the country. Davis has rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of the past three seasons, and he has scored a total of 42 touchdowns.Davis is a versatile running back who can do it all. He is a good runner between the tackles, and he can also catch the ball out of the backfield. Davis is also a good blocker, and he is not afraid to get involved in the physical part of the game.

George Pettaway

Pettaway rushed for over 1,500 yards and scored 20 touchdowns in 2022.Pettaway is a powerful running back who is tough to tackle. He has good vision and is able to find the holes in the defense. Pettaway is also a good receiver out of the backfield, and he is not afraid to pass protect.
