Trump’s Cabinet: Here Are His Picks And Finalists For Key Roles—Pete Hegseth, John Ratcliffe And More
President-elect Donald Trump continued to fill out his cabinet on Friday, announcing his picks for key roles in his administration
Trump announced his intention to nominate Pete Hegseth as deputy secretary of veterans affairs and John Ratcliffe as director of national intelligence.
Hegseth is a Fox News contributor and former Army Ranger who has been a vocal supporter of Trump. Ratcliffe is a Republican congressman from Texas who serves on the House Intelligence Committee.
Trump also announced that he is considering former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani for the position of attorney general. Giuliani was a vocal surrogate for Trump during the campaign and is considered to be one of the president-elect’s closest advisers.
The president-elect has also made a number of other cabinet picks in recent days
These include retired Marine Gen. James Mattis as secretary of defense, former Goldman Sachs executive Steven Mnuchin as treasury secretary, and former Exxon Mobil CEO Rex Tillerson as secretary of state.
With these latest announcements, Trump has filled most of the key positions in his administration. The president-elect is expected to announce his remaining cabinet picks in the coming weeks.
Pete Hegseth
Pete Hegseth is a Fox News contributor and former Army Ranger who has been a vocal supporter of Trump. He is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Kennedy School.
Hegseth served in the Army for 12 years, including tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
After leaving the Army, Hegseth worked as a policy adviser to the Department of Defense and as a speechwriter for the Bush administration. He is currently a Fox News contributor and the author of the book “American Crusade: Our Fight to Save the Nation from Radical Islam.”
John Ratcliffe
John Ratcliffe is a Republican congressman from Texas who serves on the House Intelligence Committee. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Southern Methodist University School of Law.
Ratcliffe served as a federal prosecutor for 10 years before being elected to Congress in 2014. He is a member of the House Judiciary Committee and the House Homeland Security Committee.
Ratcliffe is a vocal critic of the Obama administration’s foreign policy and has been a supporter of Trump’s promises to crack down on illegal immigration and terrorism.
Rudy Giuliani
Rudy Giuliani is a former New York City mayor and US attorney. He is a graduate of Manhattan College and New York University School of Law.
Giuliani served as mayor of New York City from 1994 to 2001. He is credited with helping to reduce crime and improve the city’s economy.
After leaving office, Giuliani worked as a partner at the law firm Bracewell & Giuliani. He was also a commentator for Fox News and a security consultant for the Trump Organization.
Giuliani was a vocal surrogate for Trump during the campaign and is considered to be one of the president-elect’s closest advisers.
