Trail Blazers' Robert Williams: Returns to game Tuesday
Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams is set to return to the lineup Tuesday night against the Golden State Warriors after missing the last two games with a left knee injury.
Williams, who is averaging 12.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game this season, suffered the injury in the third quarter of Portland's 118-113 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday. He underwent an MRI that revealed no structural damage, and he was listed as day-to-day.
Williams returned to practice on Monday and participated in all of the team's drills. He said he is feeling good and is ready to play.
"I'm feeling good," Williams said. "I'm ready to go. I'm just glad to be back out there with my teammates."
Williams' return is a boost for the Trail Blazers, who have been struggling without him. Portland is 0-2 in the two games that Williams has missed, and they have been outscored by an average of 10.5 points per game.
The Trail Blazers will need Williams to be at his best on Tuesday night against the Warriors, who are one of the best teams in the NBA. Golden State is 18-2 this season, and they have won their last four games.
Williams is confident that he can help the Trail Blazers get back on track.
"I'm just going to go out there and play my game," Williams said. "I'm going to try to help my team win."
