Residents Survey Damage, Begin Cleanup

A reported tornado touched down in Rockaway Beach, Oregon, on Tuesday evening, leaving behind a trail of damage but no reported injuries. The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed the tornado, which was rated EF-1 with winds up to 110 mph.

The tornado touched down near the beach and moved inland, causing damage to homes, businesses, and trees. Several homes lost their roofs, and others were damaged by fallen trees. Power lines were also downed, leaving some residents without power.

Cleanup Efforts Underway

Cleanup efforts began immediately after the storm passed. Residents worked together to clear debris and assess the damage. The city of Rockaway Beach has also deployed crews to help with the cleanup effort.

The NWS is still investigating the tornado, but they believe it was caused by a strong thunderstorm that moved through the area. The storm also produced hail and heavy rain.

Residents Thankful for No Injuries

Despite the damage, residents of Rockaway Beach are thankful that no one was injured. They are now focused on cleaning up and rebuilding their community.

"We're all just glad that everyone is safe," said Rockaway Beach Mayor Jim Dory. "We'll get through this together."
