Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts Leads Delegation to Mexico City

Mission Focuses on Growing Trade and Investment between Nebraska and Mexico

LINCOLN, Neb. (April 24, 2023) – Today, Governor Pete Ricketts announced the beginning of a trade mission to Mexico City, Mexico. The mission, which will take place from April 24-28, 2023, is led by Governor Ricketts and includes a delegation of Nebraska business leaders, economic development officials, and state agency representatives.

The mission's goal is to strengthen trade and investment ties between Nebraska and Mexico. The delegation will meet with Mexican government officials, business leaders, and potential investors to discuss opportunities for collaboration in various sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, and renewable energy.

“Mexico is a key trading partner for Nebraska, and this mission is an important opportunity to build on our strong relationship,” said Governor Ricketts. “I am confident that this mission will lead to new partnerships and increased investment in Nebraska, which will benefit our state's economy and create jobs for our citizens.”

The State of Nebraska has a long history of trade with Mexico. In 2022, Nebraska exported over $1 billion worth of goods to Mexico, making it the state's second-largest export market. Mexico is also a major source of investment in Nebraska, with several Mexican companies having operations in the state.
