Tony Award winner Denzel Washington will direct Jake Gyllenhaal and Kandi Burruss in a new Broadway production of William Shakespeare's Othello. The production will begin previews on November 2, 2023, and will officially open on November 20, 2023. The show will play a limited engagement through February 23, 2024, at the Belasco Theatre.

This will be Gyllenhaal's first time performing on Broadway. He is a two-time Academy Award nominee and a BAFTA Award winner. His film credits include Brokeback Mountain, Nightcrawler, and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Burruss is a Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and television personality. She is best known for her work on the reality television series The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Washington has directed several Broadway productions, including Fences, A Raisin in the Sun, and The Piano Lesson. He has also directed several films, including Malcolm X, The Hurricane, and Fences. He is a two-time Academy Award winner and a three-time Golden Globe winner.
