Playoff picture loaded with drama as NFL season winds down

14 teams clinched playoff berths, while 12 teams remain in contention entering Week 18

With just one week remaining in the NFL regular season, the playoff picture is starting to come into focus. Fourteen teams have already clinched a berth in the postseason, while 12 teams remain in contention entering Week 18. The AFC playoff picture is set, with the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars, Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, and Pittsburgh Steelers all having clinched a spot. The top two seeds in the AFC are still up for grabs, with the Chiefs (13-3) holding a one-game lead over the Bills (12-3). The Bengals (11-4) are currently the No. 3 seed, followed by the Jaguars (9-7), Ravens (10-6), Jets (7-8), Dolphins (8-8), and Steelers (8-8). The NFC playoff picture is still very much up in the air, with the Philadelphia Eagles (13-3), San Francisco 49ers (11-4), Minnesota Vikings (12-3), and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-8) all having clinched a spot. The top two seeds in the NFC are still up for grabs, with the Eagles holding a one-game lead over the 49ers. The Vikings are currently the No. 3 seed, followed by the Buccaneers. The remaining seven NFC teams in contention for a playoff spot are the Dallas Cowboys (11-4), New York Giants (8-7-1), Washington Commanders (7-8), Seattle Seahawks (8-8), Detroit Lions (7-8), Los Angeles Rams (5-10), and Green Bay Packers (7-8). The Cowboys and Giants are currently tied for the No. 5 seed in the NFC, while the Commanders are currently the No. 7 seed. The Seahawks, Lions, Rams, and Packers are all still alive for a wild-card berth, but they will need to win their final game and get some help from other teams in order to make the playoffs. Week 18 of the NFL regular season is set to kick off on Saturday, January 7th. The playoffs will begin on Saturday, January 14th with the wild-card round. The divisional round will be played on the weekend of January 21st and 22nd, followed by the conference championship games on the weekend of January 28th and 29th. Super Bowl LVII will be played on Sunday, February 12th in Glendale, Arizona.
