In a bid to shut him down during their upcoming game

The BYU Cougars are set to face the Campbell Fighting Camels on Saturday, and head coach Mark Pope has a challenge for his big men: shut down Campbell center Noah Williamson.

Williamson, a 6'10", 260-pound senior, is averaging 18.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game this season. He's a skilled scorer with a soft touch around the rim and a developing outside shot.

Pope knows Williamson is a tough matchup, but he believes his big men can handle him if they play physical and get under his skin.

"We've got to be physical with him," Pope said. "We've got to make him uncomfortable. We've got to get in his space and make him work for everything he gets."

Pope also wants his big men to be vocal and try to get Williamson off his game.

"We've got to talk to him," Pope said. "We've got to get in his head. We've got to make him question himself."

Williamson is a confident player, but Pope believes that if his big men can get him rattled, they can limit his effectiveness.

"He's a good player, but he's not invincible," Pope said. "If we can get him out of his comfort zone, we can make it tough on him."

The Cougars and Fighting Camels will tip off at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday at the Marriott Center in Provo, Utah.
