Jalen Johnson's Triple-Double Leads Hawks Past Celtics
Atlanta's Young Star Continues to Impress
Johnson's Performance Earns Praise from Coach McMillan
Atlanta Hawks forward Jalen Johnson put together a historic performance on Wednesday night, recording the first triple-double of his career in a 126-114 victory over the Boston Celtics.
Johnson finished the game with 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists. He also added 3 steals and 2 blocks, showcasing his all-around impact on the court.
The 21-year-old's performance was even more impressive considering that he was playing without his star teammate Trae Young, who was out with an injury.
"Jalen was phenomenal tonight," said Hawks coach Nate McMillan. "He did everything we needed him to do and more. He was aggressive on the boards, he made plays for himself and others, and he played great defense."
Johnson's triple-double is the first by a Hawks player since Trae Young accomplished the feat in 2021.
The win moves the Hawks to 23-22 on the season, and they are now just one game out of the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference.
