Black Panther 3 writing underway and role being crafted for iconic actor
Rumors have circulated for months regarding Denzel Washington making an appearance in the highly anticipated film
Denzel Washington has revealed that Ryan Coogler is writing him a part in the upcoming Black Panther sequel.
The acclaimed actor made the announcement while making an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" this month.
Washington, 68, said he had spoken to Coogler about the possibility of joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the past.
He said: "I talked to Ryan about it. He's writing something now. We'll see."
Washington did not provide any further details about his potential role in the film.
However, he did say that he was a fan of the Black Panther franchise and that he had been impressed by Coogler's work on the first two films.
He said: "I love the Black Panther movies. I think they're really well-made films. Ryan Coogler is a great director. I'd love to work with him."
Washington's involvement in the Black Panther sequel would be a major coup for Marvel Studios.
The actor is one of the most respected and acclaimed actors in Hollywood, and his presence in the film would undoubtedly add to its star power.
The Black Panther sequel is scheduled to be released in 2024.
Coogler is returning to direct the film, and Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o, and Winston Duke are all expected to reprise their roles from the first two films.
The film will be the first in the Black Panther franchise since the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman in 2020.
Boseman played the title role in the first two films, and his death has left a huge hole in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
However, Coogler has said that he is determined to make a sequel that is both a fitting tribute to Boseman and a satisfying conclusion to the Black Panther story.
He said: "I want to make a film that is both a celebration of Chadwick's life and a continuation of the story that he helped to create."
The Black Panther sequel is one of the most anticipated films of 2024, and Washington's involvement would only add to its appeal.
Fans of the franchise will be eagerly awaiting any further news about the film in the coming months.
