Blazers May Have Found Their Answer to Help Shore Up Frontcourt
Brandon Williams May Be The Answer
After a rough loss to the Clippers, the Blazers may have found their answer to help bolster their frontcourt in the 21-year-old, Brandon Williams.
The undrafted, 21-year old, is averaging 13.6 points per game, 8 rebounds, and over 1 block per game this season with the G-league affiliate, the Texas Legends. Williams has played well in the G-league so far this year and has shown that he is ready for a bigger role in the NBA.
What Williams Brings to the Court
Standing at 6'9, Williams is a long and athletic big man who can do it all on the court. He is a very good rebounder, shot blocker, and can also score the basketball.
Williams is shooting 53.6% from the field overall and over 38% from the perimeter, a rare feat for a big man. He has excellent touch and is able to put the ball in the basket from anywhere on the court.
How Williams Can Help the Blazers
The Blazers have been looking for a big man who can come in and contribute right away, and Williams may be that guy. He has all the tools to be a successful NBA player, and he is only going to get better with more playing time.
With Jusuf Nurkic out with an injury, and Drew Eubanks struggling, there is a major need for production in the frontcourt. Williams may be able to come in and provide that.
The Blazers are currently 29-31 and are in the thick of the playoff race. With the addition of Williams, they may be able to make a push for one of the final playoff spots.
